Brisbane artists Kate Quinn and Emily Day are thrilled to be hosting a luxury four night art retreat in Tasmania's stunning rural landscape, 90 minutes from Launceston. Running from the 9-13 February 2027, this very special immersion in art and nature will leave you feeling rested, refreshed and inspired. 9th: We will pick you up from Launceston or Launceston airport at 3.30pm, and bring you to the stunning ten bedroom (all with ensuite) restored hotel, to settle into your rooms, followed by welcome drinks and a delicious 2 course dinner. 10th: In the morning, we will start to work on our floral still life paintings in the comfy workshop space, stopping to nibble on a warm oven baked cake at morning tea. In the afternoon, after a yummy home cooked lunch, we will take an excursion to a beautiful local attraction, depending on the weather and the season. Previously we have done things such as flower picking at a dahlia farm or a trip to the Amish Tea Rooms and gardens. 11th: We will finish off our paintings, and take a beautiful outing to a local lake for a wander outdoors, to stretch our legs and get some fresh Tassie air. 12th: A day of complete R&R - today you can opt in to visit the Floating Sauna at lake Derby for an extra $55 (we highly recommend this, add on at checkout), read a book, sketch/draw/paint, sip tea/champagne/gin...whatever you like! 13th: After a lovely breakfast, will drop you back to Launceston/airport by 11am for your trip home (your flights should be booked for midday and after). This retreat is suitable for beginners, as well as those with hobby painting experience. There will be plenty of time for you to rest, chat and relax during our retreat. All non-painting activities are completely optional. Transport to and from Launceston, all meals and snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, art supplies and accommodation is included in the price. You will have to arrange and book your own flights/ transport to and from Launceston. You can purchase alcohol as you go during the retreat from the bar. Emily and Kate will divide the small class into 'acrylics' and 'oils' painting groups, and will provide creative guidance in a non-judgemental, kind and supportive way. You will walk away with a beautiful still life painting and a bunch of new skills to keep developing your practice at home. We cannot wait to meet you in Tasmania for an unforgettable experience!
